Painter Susan Ferner was born in Islip, New York. Her parents moved their family of six to Morgan Hill, California when Susan was eight. Susan has worked as a freelance graphic designer corporate for Dun & Bradstreet, Camaro Car Magazine, Nob Hill Corporate, and Advanced Integrated Automation Robotic Corporation. Although she enjoyed a successful graphic arts career, the demands of raising four children brought a maturity that changed her goals and values. In 2000, she traveled to Paris and Belgium to tour art museums, and upon returning decided to make a career change to Fine Arts. Susan began working on her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Pictorial Fine Arts, at San Jose State University at that time. In the fall of 2006, the University conferred upon Susan a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Following her graduation she traveled to Berlin, Dresden, and Leipzig, Germany to tour art museums and galleries. She also visited Manhattan, New York in September of 2008 to tour art museums and galleries. At a future date, Susan plans to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Pictorial Fine Arts.
