STATEMENT

My work depicts figurative paintings derived from direct observation. Within these works, I explore the states of human experience that lie below the surface of humanity. Through transcendent observation images emerge revealing the undercurrents of archetypal emotions, internal struggles and ideas and their effects on a multi-faceted contemporary society.

The highly emotive figurative images are a response to that transcendent connection with the model and the complexities of our modern environment played out in a visceral picture plane. The resulting pieces portray a parallel place and time that exists below the surface defining truth.
